All students who are interested in attending a B2 level (i.e. FCE level) general English course, BYA21, should come to a meeting on Thursday 12th February in Room 250 at 16:00.
At the meeting we will decide on a time for the class that suits the most people. At least 10 students must be able to attend at the same time for the class to run.
About the course
It is an FCE (B2) level General English course, NOT an exam course preparing for the FCE. The focus will mainly be on speaking on various themes; listening will also be practiced and grammar covered. Homework will be set, and some of it will take the form of exam practice, vocabulary and reading tasks, but it will be completely optional. The material covered in BYA21 (and the previous course, BYA20) is tested in the BY52 exam which our department offers to students wishing to study abroad on the Erasmus+ programme, so the course is useful for those that want to prepare for that exam, or for others that just want to practice their English so it doesn’t get “rusty”…
FAST students must have the BY51 exam (and an unused free semester too) to attend the course for free; there will be a special BY51 exam session at the beginning of the semester for students who need the exam so they can attend the course.
Other people from outside FAST are also welcome to attend, though in most cases they will need to pay for the course. For information on payment please check this address: https://spv.webnode.cz/kabinet-jazyku/kurzy-pro-samoplatce/
If you would like to attend the course but can’t come to the meeting, please e-mail Mr Turland at firstname.lastname@example.org, letting him know the hours when you are free, so we can take them into account when deciding if and when the course will open.
